Of course. I mean, for a lot of the people here, they're just used to it, I guess? So I can get why there are so many people who don't bat an eye. It's hard not to be wary, though, when magic and all that just seems to be used for dangerous purposes where you come from.
[At this point, of course, Sally has no idea just how far his "nervousness" goes, and why he's rubbed people the wrong way. She hasn't caught his use of the term something.]
Yes! That's my point! Not saying that humans can't also be dangerous, but at least we don't have magic. There is some sort of defence you can come up with for something a human can do! A human can't look at you and suddenly you're on fire. I think it should be more of a concern for people regardless if you're used to it or not.
Meeting up sounds like a great idea. We need to discuss the most important part of starting a publishing company - the name!
Are you a dominant? I can come to you if it's easier.

I'll send you my address. Come over around six? Should give me enough time to make sure I have everything I need and to cook you a meal fit for missing a bath for.
Then feel free to ask for cash or some sort of resource. What kind of things do you need? And will it need to be bat-shaped? Because you might be able to save a bit of money if it's not custom made. [He asks; clearly joking as they head inside.]
How old are you, anyway? Are you even allowed to drink? [This is asked because Tim plans on ordering himself a beer.]
[Tim snorts out a laugh at the bat question] Nothing needs to be bat-shaped, that was not my brand to maintain even if I did have it here.
Honestly, cash would just be the easiest because I can funnel that into the Community Centre but if I need help purchasing things I might get back to you on that.
[Big Tim gets a sour look at the enquiring about the age thing. At least the man asked and didn't presume he was too young]
And I'm 19. Not technically old enough in my country, old enough in yours and more than old enough here since 15 is legal age here. I won't be drinking though
[For now, she decides to just focus on the topic of meeting up. The rest of it is a bit heavy for text, at least for her. Thinking about it all makes her paranoid and uneasy.]
Anywhere is fine, and anytime, too. I'm not really busy. I'm just working as a part-time receptionist right now. Is there anyplace you like? A cafe or something?
There's a small cafe I know of. Sells decent teas and coffee. [He sends over the address.] Sound good? I can meet you there in about two hours when I get off of work.
Thanks. I hope it does. [He really does but isn't too sure.]
But the important thing is that you and your ex are alright. Especially in this city full of sex. My ex isn't here. [Might not even be alive anymore.] Things are a lot differnet trying to have a relationship in this city compared to home.
[Tim will send over his address and he will make sure to start cooking right away. He's no five-star chef, but he still took some cooking lessons back home. So when the meal comes out of the oven it will be very succulant.
He will have the table set in some fancy dinnerware and he will even get dressed up for the occation. A nice light blue button down with a pair of black trousers. He's even gotten out a fairly decent bottle of wine as well to go with the meal. All ready for her arrival.]
[Tim nods his head.] You sure? I think I'm going to grab myself a beer. [Which he leans over and gives his request to the bartender on duty.] What about a soft drink or something?
[And so she will be, waiting at a table outside with a tea she's already ordered for herself--chose to go with something calming so she wouldn't get the jitters. Undoubtedly, when Tim steers into view, the eighteen-year-old is going to be hoping that he's not the one she's meeting.
Why is everyone here so goddamn attractive? It makes her so nervous!]
[Tim is a little surprised by the youth that he spots waiting for him. Mostly because when he was younger he had been more focused on parties and adventures then working so he's impressed by Sally's dedication to this project.] Hello! [He greets warmly. Holding out his hand for shaking.] A pleasure to meet you. Sally, right?
[Tim shakes his head] A grape soda would be nice but yeah I don't drink alcohol.
[He had a small phase here in Duplicity where he went a bit wild but he's realised that he can very easily do these things without the assistance. He waits for Tim to get their drinks and beacons him to a booth towards the back.]
So where would you like to start? In regards to telling me everything about the Magnus Institute.
[Setting down their drinks and sitting down Tim sighs.] But I haven't even had my eggs yet! [He weakly protests without any real seriousness to his words.]
Where to start really? From what Jon tells me we've ended the world back home so that's pretty exciting, I guess.
Tell me about it. [ Her eyes widen slightly. ] This city complicates everything. The quota system, the aphrodisiacs… Everything about it. I think I’m doing alright, all things considered.
[When Inara sets her device to the side, she is smiling because well, she's truly looking forward to the evening.
While she doesn't take a bath, she does clean up and sets out to ready herself for the evening. She dresses as she normally does, a pretty purple dress with pretty gold embroidery, a pair of strappy heels, and a matching silk shawl that she's draped around her bare shoulders. She's worn her hair down in loose curls and has put just enough makeup on to enhance but not enough so it's distracting.
Overall, she believes that she looks rather pretty, at least that is her intent.
She's right on time. And she checks to make sure she has the right address before she reaches out and knocks on the door.]
Did you order eggs? with your beer? [Look, that is completely a combination of food that Tim would eat if he drank alcohol but he also knows that it's not exactly a socially normal choice]
Jon always gives only bits and pieces of information everytime I see him. I'm vaguely wearing him down but it's hard to establish a timeline from it all.
So start from the beginning? I suppose that's when Jon became the Archivist?
