[She's not sure how she feels about the delay in response. Is she wrong to want to spend time with Kyle outside of work? Would it be different with someone else?]
[On one hand, she very much appreciates the fact that he's not pushing back too much on this. On the other? She has a deep gut feeling that it might not be so simple as that. She's also aware that maybe she shouldn't push, but when has she ever listened to her red flags?]
Good. I'm glad. ♥
Are you sure? I need you to be okay with this. If you're not--if this bothers you, tell me please.
~~~ It's slightly later than her usual time of getting home, no real thanks to the stupid lift guard patrol, even if they're training new stupid lift guard patrol, and the old guard should be well aware of her business in the Down and Haven.
She comes through the door, laden with her tote bag filled with a few things to work on at home for a fundraiser ball, her lunch bag, and her purse, feeling a might run down as a whole, but looking ever so thankful to be home.
The door shut behind her, she leans her back against it with a sigh. "Sorry 'm late," she calls out. "Bloody guards are training new people and the queue was awful."
--- When she gets home he doesn't even ask. He simply comes up to start taking a few bags from her. Leaning in to casually kiss her cheek. "Welcome home, love." Taking what he can for her he starts to move into the lounge. "That sounds awful. How about you sit down and I give you a foot rub?"
Sasha hums a sigh of thanks, content to let him take what he'd like off of her shoulders before her shoes come off and she follows suit. "I think I'm wholly content just to sit down, but I won't say no to rubbed feet. Possibly a drink later."
She flops unceremoniously onto the sofa. "How was your day?"
"Not bad." He's gotten himself an office job, it's not exciting, but helps to pay their bills. As she sits down he kneels on the floor. Picking up her foot to remove her shoes as he was fully serious about that foot rub. "Nothing amazing, but not bad."
Even though she wasn't looking for a footrub when she came home, she's certainly not going to complain about getting one. Tim seems a fan of giving them, at least to her, and that's a nice gift to have.
Sasha settles back, allowing him foot access. "Good to hear. Especially in this town." She also knows he's not entirely thrilled about the job situation, but he's trying his best for the both of them. "Let me make dinner, yeah?"
"You sure? I could help out if you need a hand." He was more than happy to step back and let her cook if she's offering, but he also doesn't want to be completely lazy either if she could use a hand.
She doesn't really feel like cooking after a long day, but but part of her feels guilty about the text from earlier. She'd like for him not to fret about the friends she keeps. Even if she's fretted about him plenty for very different reasons. It's not an apples to apples scenario, she knows, and sighs gently.
She wiggles her toes. "You might have to help if you keep rubbing my feet like that."
Her foot jerks slightly at the bite. "Well, one of us is going to have to move to order to prevent cannibalism." She sighs a bit wistfully. "And since you took my bags when I walked in the door and I'm nowhere near my phone, I suppose that means you."
"I could really go for some tortellini and meatballs." Saucy. Cheesy. Creamy. Give it to her, please.
"Though, if you're not up for Italian? We can do something else." And eventually let the conversation slide back to that whole texting situation, but only after dinner.
"I'm only alright with Italian so long as we get plenty of garlic bread." He gets up to sit down on the couch next to her. Leaning in to give her a quick kiss. "Shall I order us dinner and you can take some time freshening up while it gets here?"
"If by 'freshening up' you mean 'put on pyjamas and take this makeup off, then I'm all about this plan." She laughs, sitting herself up with some brief hesitation to pull herself up and off the couch to do those things. "And if you didn't order garlic bread, I'd be sorely disappointed in you."
"That is exactly what I mean." He gives her a cheek a quick kiss as she sits up. "Go ahead. I'll call in the food."
As she gets into the shower she'll hear him speaking in the kitchen. Putting in their order with EXTRA garlic bread. He will then find himself a book to read while waiting for their food to be delivered.
Is this a good reason to be home or a bad one?
[Might as well get it mostly out so he's not wondering until she gets home.]
Just the two of you?
Yeah.
If you aren't comfortable with it, I won't.
I trust him with my life.
Then I don't see it being a problem.
